In July of 2010, after a year of climate change studies, twenty-two high school students from the Elementary Institute of Science in San Diego traveled to Glacier National Park to participate in a research-based, citizen science program. The Southern California Research Learning Center provided a series of outdoor training sessions for the students that focused on backcountry survival skills, field research techniques, and physical conditioning. The students then participated in research projects including surveys of mountain goats and photo documentation of landscape change. Since the end of the project, the students have become Climate Change Ambassadors to their peers and local communities.
